Business Administration

The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration program at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden presents associate degree recipients the opportunity to structure a winning game plan while expanding their educational experience. The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration is the solution for those who have earned their associate degree and wish to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from an ACSB accredited institution. This program provides participants with a broad education in business administration with the added flexibility of selecting electives.

Recommended Courses Before Enrollment

For students interested in transferring into the Bachelor of Arts Business Administration degree offered at Rutgers in Blackwood, completion of the following Camden County College courses are recommended before enrollment:

  • ECO101 – Macroeconomics

  • ECO102 – Microeconomics

  • ACC104 – Financial Accounting

  • ACC105 – Managerial Accounting

  • MTH111 – Elementary Statistics I

  • MTH112 – Elementary Statistics II

  • MTH100 – Algebraic Concepts

  • MTH114 – College Algebra for Business

  • MTH122 – Applied Calculus

  • CSC101 – Computer Literacy

  • LAW101 – Business Law

The above courses should be completed as part of or in addition to an associate’s degree program. Completion of an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree is required to be considered for admission. The Associate in Science Business Administration degree (ABA.AS) is the recommended associate’s degree program at Camden County which includes most of the above courses as part of that program.

Transfer Information

Students may transfer up to 60 credits from a community college to Rutgers-School of Business Camden and must receive a grade of C or better for a course to be transferred in. A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA is recommended to be considered for admission.

Students completing an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree are not eligible to transfer into the Business Administration degree program

Additional Information

For students who have not completed the Business Administration (ABA.AS) associate’s degree at Camden County College, it is recommended to consult with a Rutgers at Camden County advisor prior to applying to transfer to discuss transfer eligibility.

Courses for the Business Administration degree at Rutgers at Camden County College are a combination of courses taught in-class at the CCC-Blackwood campus and online courses. Students interested in transferring into this program should be comfortable with taking online courses.

Criminal Justice

The Camden department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, offers an interdisciplinary curriculum of study for individuals seeking a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. The criminal justice program prepares students for careers in a broad array of justice-related settings.  Criminal justice courses are complemented with relevant sociological and anthropological course offerings. Students majoring in criminal justice must complete 42 credits of criminal justice, sociology, anthropology, and related courses with at least a 2.0 grade-point average in the combined courses.  At least half of the credits for the major must be taken at Rutgers.

Recommended Courses Before Enrollment

For students interested in transferring into the Bachelor of Arts Criminal Justice program at Rutgers in Blackwood, completion of the following Camden County College courses are recommended before enrollment:

  • CRJ101 – Administration of Justice
  • CRJ103 – Legal Systems
  • CRJ106 – Contemporary Corrections
  • MTH107 – Math for Liberal Arts
  • ART111 – Art History I
  • Spoken Foreign Language of 102 or higher

Liberal Studies

Liberal Studies is a unique program within University College—Camden that provides students the opportunity for interdisciplinary studies in a small classroom settings. The program offers a broad range of courses in literature, history, philosophy, religion, the social sciences, and the arts. This interdisciplinary major in liberal studies is specifically designed for students who transfer to University College-Camden with an Associates in Applied Science degree.

Recommended Courses Before Enrollment

For students interested in transferring into the Bachelor of Arts Liberal Studies program at Rutgers in Blackwood, completion of the following Camden County College courses are recommended before enrollment:

  • MATH107 – Math for the Liberal Arts

  • HIS101 – World Civilization

  • SOC101 – Intro to Sociology

  • PSY101 – Intro to Psychology

  • Foreign Language >101

The above courses should be completed as part of or in addition to an associate’s degree program. Completion of an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree is strongly recommended before transferring and is preferred to completion of an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.

Political Science

The Department of Political Science offers a wide range of courses that students have found useful in preparation for careers in law, government service, and public affairs.  The department curriculum is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of politics and government in the United States, foreign countries, and the international system.

For students interested in transferring into the Bachelor of Arts Political Science program at Rutgers in Blackwood, completion of the following Camden County College courses are recommended before enrollment:

  • POL101 – Intro to Political Science

  • POL103 – American Federal Government

  • MTH107 – Math for Liberal Arts

  • ART111 – Art History I

  • Spoken Foreign Language of 102 or higher

The above courses should be completed as part of or in addition to an associate’s degree program. Completion of an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree is recommended before transferring. The Associate in Liberal Arts and Science: Law, Government & Politics Option (GOV.AA) degree is the recommended associate’s degree program at CCC which includes most of the above courses as part of that program. Students completing the Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Studies are also eligible to transfer and are eligible to receive up to 36 technical credits as part of their transfer credits (60 in total).

Psychology

The psychology major provides students with a broad background for understanding behavior through exposure to theories and scientific research across a range of sub-disciplines. Students thus acquire the preparation necessary to pursue graduate training in clinical or research psychology or to enhance the pursuit of related professions such as education, social work, medicine, or criminal justice. the international system.
